oops

Oh hey, I'm really bad at this "weekly themed post" doohicky. But what can I say? I spent last night DANCIN!!!! After that I watched the Wire with my buddy Diana. I also ate chicken fingers earlier in the day and dumped some buckets of water on all of the students at SES. Hopefully now that the program is almost over I will get back into the blogging thing.

p.s. speaking of the internet, have you seen the trailer for the social network? Aaron Sorkin writes a movie about facebook? David Fincher directs? ADORABLE CHILDRENS CHOIR SINGS RADIOHEAD IN THE TRAILER?!??!!? What could be better.

Ranunculus flower Fields of Carlsbad , California

My flickr favorites have been skewing towards the brightly colored recently. Also... how do we feel about floral tattoos? Perhaps some ranunculus or peonies? I've been pondering them recently.

oh, hello blog. Nice seeing you around. What's that? I skipped a whole week of blogging, including that weekly thing I said I was going to do? I have no idea what you are talking about.

wearing my hair down for once and an urban outfitters dress / going to uptown to find shoes with the SES students, but only found popcorn kernals in the street and magic rocks to play with later.

eating mostly junk food / punching water balloons and playing with plastic balloons! it was so much fun.

Calling all creative types, or friends of creative types! I'm the new visual arts editor for 5x5 magazine, which is published at the beginning of each season with a very casual theme for its poetry, fiction, non-fiction, visual arts, and comics contributors. This coming theme is "Nourishment" - you can get more submission details here.

I did the cover for the most recent issue, "Self", but it was a one-time thing - mostly to celebrate my newly appointed position. It was lots of fun to make, I still feel like I'm learning so much about photoshop ... and making things look like they weren't made in it!

report card

Today I decided that I wanted to try something new with this little bloggie - a weekly feature. I find myself constantly wishing I was even an iota as cool as Kate Miss of for me, for you, and her "bits of my weekend" feature always captivates me, so I thought I'd try out something similar. Every friday I'll take photographs of what I'm wearing, what I'm eating, and what I'm doing - and then post it over the weekend. We'll see if it lasts.

This Friday I already know what I'm doing, so let's get to it:

eating sushi / probably making alchy arnie palmers later / making last minute art to put up in a friend's coffee shop / watching the wire / wearing my favorite vintage tennis skirt that never fails to flash somebody I don't know
